Italian journalist Giulietto Chiesa. Donbass, Democracy and the order of things

Famous Italian journalist, writer and ex-member of EU Parliament Giulietto Chiesa has visited Donetsk for the first time.
As a member of a special monitoring committee he was observing the preliminary elections in Donetsk Republic.
Eventhough Giulietto has been following events in Ukraine and Donbass for over 2 years, it became a different story to see it with his own eyes.
He wasn’t expecting such level of destruction and at the same time Donetsk being a beautiful civilized city of European type.
However, he strongly objects European standards for elections in DPR. In his opinion, Europe is in no position to teach Donbass democracy.

Известный итальянский журналист, писатель и бывший член Европарламента Джульетто Кьеза впервые посетил Донецк. В составе группы международных наблюдателей он следил за процессом проведения предварительных выборов в ДНР. Джульетто следил за событиями на Украине и Донбассе более двух лет, но то что он здесь увидел своими глазами оказалось иным. Он не ожидал такого уровня разрушений и в то же время того, что Донецк – это красивый, цивилизованный город европейского образца.
А вот для выборов по его мнению, европейский стандарт ни в коем случае нельзя брать в расчет! Европа не может научить Донбасс демократии
